Happy with my new hubs

Solid overall experience

Oh for sure. Dubya wheels are built with way higher quality components, especially the hubs and spokes. It's a noticeable difference compared to Warp 9, which is more of a budget brand.

Returns on custom wheels are a bit trickier, I think. Like, if it's a defect, sure, but if you just change your mind, it might not be possible since it's built just for you. Better double check their site.

yeah returns were easy, did it last month for some spokes that were the wrong length (my fault). but for custom wheels i'm not sure. they probably have a more strict policy for those.

What's the deal with their carbon fiber wheels? Are they really that much better than traditional aluminum rims, or mostly for pro riders?

Carbon wheels are definitely lighter and can be stronger in some ways, but they're a big investment. For most casual riders, aluminum Excel A60s are already overkill. Carbon is more for serious racers where every ounce matters.

They're awesome if you can afford them, super light and stiff. But for regular trail riding or even most racing, a good aluminum rim like an Excel is plenty. It's a huge price jump.

Yep, you can totally send in your own hubs. I did that with my KTM a few years back, they just charged me for the rims, spokes, and the labor. Saved a few bucks.

Yeah, I think they say custom builds can take a bit longer, like 2-4 weeks just for the build itself, then add shipping on top. Probably worth checking with them directly if you need it by a certain date.
